Coolwater, Capt. Chris
Garcia

Chris Garcia is a Captain that was born to fish the waters of Key West. Captain Chris has been on the water since his days as a young boy. He is a fourth generation Key West native. This knowledge and history allows him to offer you tours that are unparalleled. While you can find a number of guides in Key West, you cannot find many like Captain Chris. Service, pride in his work, and his consistently caring nature are what make his charters stand out from the rest.
Chris has been fishing these waters for stone crab, kingfish, and everything in between. As a commercial fisherman, he has spent time lobster hunting and catching snapper. Now he is here to offer you years of experience and a patient, guiding hand as a fishing charter Captain. Whether you are a beginner, who has never picked up a pole or a seasoned expert will not matter. Captain Chris has the patience and knowledge to see you have great times while fishing on his boat, the Coolwater.
Captain Chris' Coolwater is a 31 ft custom built Sea Vee that was built in 2006. The Coolwater is powered with dual 225, Yamaha four strokes. While there are many boats in the waters of Key West it is hard to rival the class, distinction, and power of the Coolwater. Ready for fishing in any situation, the Coolwater was built to create the best fishing environment imaginable.
On board the Coolwater there are numerous fishing boxes, storage, and even an on board head, which is rare to find on a light tackle-fishing vessel in Key West. Two live bait wells are also on board. A CD player for music and a cell phone for any possible emergencies are on board for your convenience.
Captain Chris assures 100% comfort while traveling the Key West waters on the Coolwater. With the best equipment, a knowledgeable hand, and the best possible boat in Key West, this charter is all about Performance! Captain Garcia's rates for fishing charters are in line with full-time, knowledgeable and highly rated Key West fishing guides.
Rates:
Full Day: $850
3/4 Day: $750
1/2 Day: $650
Beginning May 1, 2008 my rates will go to $675, $800, and $925
due to the cost of fuel.
RATES FOR GUIDES:
My rates are $600 for a half day and $850 for a full day. You might find a few guides at 600 or $550
for a half day, even less. Here in Key West guides are not hard to find, GOOD ONES are. There are many
part-time guides with other jobs as their primary source of income. There are also hired captains who
don't own the boat they are running. Basically, they're learning their way around the ocean on your dollar.
My guess is that you'd want a guide that fishes FULL TIME and is on the water 4 or 5 days a week during season
and knows where the fish are (or works very hard to find them). As I said a guide is not hard to find, GOOD ONES are.
The old saying 'you get what you pay for' truly holds here. You'll find my rates are consistent with other top-notch
guides in Key West.
