KEY WEST FISHING REPORT - February 12th 2010

Tuesday on our charter boat, the Outcast, Capt. Bill led a successful offshore charter to the south of the Florida Keys. The winds were blowing from the north, allowing for some nice fishing on the Atlantic side. The clients on the Outcast not only managed to bring in seven Kingfish, but hauled in a hulking 40-lb. Wahoo. The fish were really striking the live bait on this day. Even though this year's winter air temperatures have been unusually, the warm Gulf Stream waters have pumped into the region, keeping the Deep Sea Fishing consistently strong.

Once the large pending front barrels through the area on Saturday, there will be some great Off Shore Fishing on the Atlantic Side of Key West on Sunday. The winds will be too strong on Saturday, blowing at 25 knots. Fish, such as Tuna and Sailfish, may enter the region after the front. The winds should change, blowing from the north at 15 knots; this is ideal conditions for Deep Sea fishing to the south of the Keys. Our charter captains will chase species such as Sailfish, Blackfin, Wahoo, and Mahi Mahi. There should also be some nice wreck fishing for Amberjack and Mutton Snapper.

Tight lines and trophy trips,

Capt. Chris Garcia
