KEY WEST FISHING REPORT - April 5th 2010

We continue to see plenty of action off-shore due to the annual run of Sailfish. A slew of Cobia has joined the Sailfish at the surface of the color change. Just this past Saturday, Capt. Wallace guided our charter boat, the Outcast, off-shore to nab a 72-pound Cobia.

Today, Capt. Smith guided a group on a combination charter on our boat, the Coolcast. Using live Threadfin Herring, his party nabbed Sailfish, as well as King Mackerel, and Dorado offshore at the brink of the Gulf Stream. Smith then returned to Key West Harbor with the rising tide to catch two Tarpon tipping the scales at 70 and 120 pounds on cut shrimper trash.

Shark angling in the flats has also been excellent lately; our own Capt. Miller led a group inshore on the Coolwater where one angler brought in a one hundred and four inch Lemon Shark. This client was so proud of his catch that he decided to get this predator double-mounted.

Good anglin',

Capt. Damon Santelli
