Ahhh... a Key West Fishing Vacation

Ahhh... a Key West Fishing Vacation

A Key West fishing vacation: imagine yourself on a calm evening on the water in Key West. Your boat is anchored, you’ve popped a beer and set it in the cup holder. Your lines are baited and you’re just chilling, waiting for a tarpon to strike as you watch the famous Key West sunset. All your worries are behind you as you focus on the ripples of the calm evening water, watching for the rolls of the silvery monsters that will soon snap up your bait and pull like a train going full speed. Your calm moment will become a total chaotic mess as all heck breaks loose when you hook a tarpon.

Luckily your quick-release anchor allows you to unhook and chase the tarpon as he pulls you across the water. But you don’t give in- eventually the tarpon gets tired and you keep on reeling him in, for the first catch of your Key West fishing vacation.

A calm evening of tarpon fishing on the flats can be followed the next morning by an offshore fishing trip for mahi mahi, marlin, tuna, wahoo and who knows what else. Or a reef trip for snapper and grouper. Or bonefishing, again on the flats. The possibilities are endless, and the outcome will always be exciting on your next Key West fishing vacation.
