Key West bone fishing is done on the flats from a small, shallow-draft flats boat. Most Key West fishing guides will whisk their customers out the back country for flats fishing, as this is where most of the flats are in this area. They either travel north, northeast or west for the best Key West bone fishing territory. If you go south of Key West, it’s patch reefs, Hawk’s Channel, deeper water, and the reef.
