Key West Fishing Spring Fever

Key West fishing spring fever continues to pump through the veins of Key West fishing charters. Visitors and locals alike are taking advantage of the extended daylight hours by joining us for longer fishing trips off the coast of the US's southernmost island! The middle of the week last week saw a storm bring in heavy winds, but this can be both a curse and a blessing. While obviously no fishing can be done during the storm, the post-storm fishing is typically extraordinary! The winds tend to excite and activate the marine life, making the fishing possibilities slightly better than normal. But even without this mixed-blessing, the fishing in Key West during this time of the year is stellar! The tarpon fishing in Key West that came around in full force at the beginning of the month are still around in high numbers. The wind conditions since the storm have been perfect and have allowed for great fishing both in shore and offshore, and both in the Gulf and in the Atlantic. Our main catches last week included the tarpon, permit and shark on our inshore fishing charters, and then with the deep sea fishing charters our guests brought back species tuna, sailfish, and mahi mahi. Make your Key West fishing charter reservations for this spring as early as possible 'cause you do not want to miss your chance to join in on all the action!
