March Fishing in Key West

Spring weather has been in full effect this past week in Key West. The windy days and big storm of last week has passed and left Key West with that idyllic balmy weather that the tropical island is known for. Storms in Key West are a blessing in disguise, especially when it comes to fishing. Once the storm passes over, the fish and marine life are more active than normal. So we are happy to report that this past week has been extremely successful for all of our fishing trips. Out on the reef, inshore, and offshore, our captains have been coming back with exciting stories full of all kinds of catches.

Captain Damon says that inshore his team of fishing captains have been coming back with Tarpon and shark. On the reef the main catches this week have been yellowtail snapper and mutton snapper. These are all delicious fish species that our anglers are welcome to take with them. Offshore there's been quite a few grouper catchings (these species have to be thrown back in). The most unique story of this past week, however, have been the blackfin tuna. The storm got massive schools of shrimp very active. We followed some of the shrimp boats this past week and had great success catching the delicious blackfin tuna that feed on the shrimp. All in all, this is a great time for Key West fishing charter trips! It's also one of the busiest time of the year (thanks to Spring Break!), so call us to get your reservations in as soon as possible.
