Recent Fishing Report:

Posted: August 22th 2010

We've seen some excellent action on the Gulf side of Key West lately, especially while fishing the numerous wrecks located throughout the region.

At these wrecks, our clients have been catching Goliath Groupers weighing up to four hundred pounds utilizing jigs with both live and cut bait. Anglers have also been catching Mangrove Snapper and the largest schools of Cobia (up to 30 fish)I have ever seen.

Our own Captain Bill Wallace saw one of his clients nab a thirty-six-pound King Mackerel aboard the Coolwater using twelve-pound test line.

While guiding a charter in the Gulf, Captain Mike saw a huge Tiger Shark staking at one wreck site. We've witnessed plenty of Bull Sharks hunting near these wrecks lately as well.

It is great fun to visit a number of different wreck sites on one excitement-filled charter in the Gulf of Mexico. There are hundreds of sunken recreational vessels, shrimping trawlers, and commercial craft in the region that serve as habitat and structure for an array of exhilarating game species.

Good anglin',

Captain Chris Garcia
