A great week out on the waters of Key West is coming to an end. We're expecting a mini cold front for a couple days but we don't expect this one to effect activity out on the waters much. Today is cloudy but not windy so we still have several of our captains out on the waters going after the species common in this season: sailfish, marlin, blackfin tuna, yellowtail snapper, king mackerel, kingfish. Speaking of Kingfish, one of our top captains, Captain Chris Garcia, says the kingfish have been extremely active out on the flats. And using slow trolling and live bait out on the edge of the shallow reefs, him and a few of his guest anglers caught three Kingfish in one half-day charter, with one of the suckers weighing 47 pounds!

With winds coming in from the north all week and the weather as warm as if it were the beginning of summer, fishing in the offshore waters of both the Atlantic and the Gulf has been excellent! It's a great time to go fishing in Key West, especially if you are one of the people who wants to fish for the famous sailfish. Sailfish are popular not only because of their majestic look but also because they give us anglers quite a challenge...and a challenge we are always ready to accept!.

Good anglin',

Captain Chris Garcia
