Second Generation : Captain Rob Delph

Ultra Grand Slam: Captain Craig Jiovani

Captain Rob is just the fishing Captain to lead you through the waters of Key West correctly. Rob has been fishing since his earliest moments as a child. He fondly recalls spending all day fishing, only to take breaks for lunch. By the age of six, he had caught his first sailfish, which his father had mounted and he still has today.

As Captain Rob got older, he would fish with his father, also a charter Captain, with intent to learn all there was to know about fishing and the waters. Captain Rob’s primary goal was to fulfill his dream of becoming a charter Captain when the time was right. As soon as Captain Rob was able to take his Coast Guard exam for the Captain's license he took it and passed it on the first try.

Being a knowledgeable guide, Rob understood that having a license did not make him a good guide. In order to be sure he was able to provide his clients with the best charters, he trained under his father and learned his craft as much as possible.

In the following years, Captain Rob was in several competitions where he won, tied, or took a high placement for his ability to reel them in. To give you an idea of his achievements, Captain Rob holds the following titles:

On his hunt for the best fish in Key West, Captain Rob has guided numerous clients to more than 30 IGFA fishing records. Recently, he continues to be hard at work handling videos and television opportunities, in addition to being a full-time fishing charter Captain. The goal of the videos is to work with manufacturers of tackle to endorse what is good and to further the development of new products.

Captain Rob guides clients on the Second Generation. This fine vessel is a 31' custom built Sea Vee. The Second Generation is powered by 2/200 hp Yamaha Outboards that have a 200 gallon fuel capacity. A bait-well and live tank are available on board, as well as both freshwater and saltwater wash down areas. A chill tank and ice storage will ensure your fish remain fresh throughout the trip and the rod storage area will keep the boat tidy when fishing is not in session.

All Inclusive RATES FOR GUIDES:

My rates are $650 for a half day and $900 for a full day. You might find a few guides at $600 for a half day, even less. Here in Key West guides are not hard to find, GOOD ONES are. There are many part-time guides with other jobs as their primary source of income. There are also hired captains who don't own the boat they are running. Basically, they're learning their way around the ocean on your dollar. My guess is that you'd want a guide that fishes FULL TIME and is on the water 4 or 5 days a week during season and knows where the fish are (or works very hard to find them). As I said a guide is not hard to find, GOOD ONES are. The old saying 'you get what you pay for' truly holds here. You'll find my rates are consistent with other top-notch guides in Key West.
