KEY WEST FISHING REPORT - June 26th 2010

The Yellowtail Snapper continue to run well out at the reef on the Atlantic side of Key West. As a result of the seasonal Yellowtail spawn, our captains have seen their parties catch their limits every trip. Groups have been catching large Yellowtail Snapper on light tackle and some Grouper off the bottom.

Tarpon have also been biting well, as this species should throughout the summertime. Our own Captain Bill Wallace saw his anglers go four for six on Tarpon yesterday on a morning half day excursion into Key West Harbor. If you have never been Tarpon fishing, this is a great time of year to fish for this excellent fighting fish.

Friday, Captain Dan piloted our charter boat, the Outcast, into the flats to fish for sharks. This sunset excursion into the backcountry flats was really exciting; his party nabbed Lemon Sharks, Bull Sharks, and Blacktips on cut bait.

This is the prime time to join us in Key West for some excellent light tackle fishing; the weather is beautiful and the fish are biting.

Good anglin',

Capt. Chris Garcia
